Perhaps the most valuable membership benefit is a
subscription to the Society's journal, Free Radical Biology and Medicine
(FRBM). The journal, which is published twice per month (24 issues), is
one of the highest impact factor journals in the field (6.081) and is
listed by all the major indexing services, including: Current Contents,
Index Medicus, Science Citation, Chemical Abstracts, Current Awareness
in Biological Sciences and Toxicology Abstracts. The journal encompasses
chemical, biochemical, genetic, molecular biology, cell biology, cell
signalling, physiological, pharmacological, pathological, toxicological
and medical approaches to oxygen and free radical research. New members
receive the entire volume year of FRBM no matter what point in a given
year they join the Society - a savings of $350 over a regular non-member
subscription. In addition, regular and postdoc members of the society
receive access to FRBM on-line: abstracts and full text of all published
articles are available to read even before you receive the print issue
via mail!

Administering the peer review process of all submissions from one site will result in a faster turn around time from submission to first decision, whilst affording the Editors more time to concentrate on further developing and expanding the scope of FRBM to ensure that it maintains its position as the Top journal in its field. Please do NOT send manuscripts directly to one of FRBM's editors.
The Central office is run by a team of experienced scientists and administrative staff and has, for more than a decade, been the pivotal point in the peer review administration of manuscripts published in other major scientific journals. The Journal Editors and Associate Editors will continue to select the most appropriate reviewers for each paper and will ultimately decide on the acceptability of your manuscript. This move to a central receiving office for FRBM is an endorsement of our commitment to continue to serve you (our authors and readers) and keep you abreast of what's new in your particular area of research, in a timely fashion.
We look forward to receiving your Original Research Papers, Review Articles, Hypothesis Papers, and Letters to the Editors in our San Diego, CA office.
