FRIDOVICH, MCCORD AND HALLIWELL SELECTED AS 2008 SENIOR
INVESTIGATOR AWARD WINNERS

August 20, 2008 -- SFRBM's Awards Committee has announced the 2008 recipients of the society's Senior Investigator Awards. Joe M. McCord, Ph.D. of the University of Colorado and Irwin Fridovich, Ph.D. of Duke University are co-recipeints and will receive a "Discovery Award", while Barry Halliwell, DSc of the National University of Singapore was chosen SFRBM's "Lifetime Achievement Award" winner. Both awards include a featured lecture at SFRBM's 15th Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, IN on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 6:00 pm, a $2,500 cash award and an invitation to publish a review article in Free Radical Biology and Medicine, SFRBM's journal.
